Does this capture the whole page, or just what fits on screen?

By default, the whole page — the "capture the full scrollable page" option is checked automatically. Uncheck it if you only want the first screen (what a visitor sees before scrolling), which some sites render more reliably.

What does "Custom" viewport do?

It lets you type any width (rather than only the fixed Desktop/Tablet/Mobile presets) so you can match a specific screen size you're designing or testing for.

Why might a capture fail or time out?

Some sites block automated screenshot requests, require a login to see real content, or simply take too long to finish loading. If a capture fails, waiting a moment and trying again often works, since a slow site may just need more time to render.

Does this run its own browser, or use another service?

This uses a dedicated third-party screenshot rendering service rather than running a browser on our own server — this was a deliberate change to make sure the tool works on any hosting (including ordinary shared hosting), not only the higher-end servers a self-hosted browser would require.
